| What is scoliosis? | Diagnostic |
The diagnosis scoliosis is made by a doctor or an naturopath ("Heilpraktiker"). Usually a X-ray of the spine is used for that. Optimal is it if the doctor can make one x-ray of the whole spine, but there are not many doctors who have this possibility. One can measure on the xray how strong the spine is bent and how many degree each curve shows. |

Another diagnostic method is the measurement with a scoliometer. The scoliometer measures the degree of rotation (after Bunell) for each curve. It is a good possibility to measure the spine in short periods and to observe the changes of the spine. |
